[unpaid/sample/affililate/ad] I’ve got to admit that I’m not all that interested in ‘faces’ of brands but what the signing of Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl and Hocus Pocus) for Coco Mademoiselle has given me the perfect opportunity to have a refresh of the fragrance. I still think of No.5 as ‘my’ fragrance but I like the fresher aspect of Mademoiselle.
I’ve also learned something about the ingredients. There are notes of amber, woods and tonka within Mademoiselle but also patchouli which, according to Olivier Polge, isn’t just any old patchouli but rather a specific grade that is fractionated and refined. I know it sounds crazy but I swear I can smell daffodils in the juice!
The absolute sell for me with this fragrance is the citrus aspect – mandarin, orange blossom and orange blended with bergamot, rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang. I mean, that is a perfect mix of sharp and heady. I am very much in awe of those who can write pages and pages about fragrance – I have an accompanying brochure introducing Whitney but also explaining about the abstract nature of Chanel fragrances… I’ll admit to being somewhat lost but slightly envious of the amount of words available to describe any one perfume. Also, a French fragrance press release is a work of art – although there is definitely a theme of the ‘independent, strong woman’ who has a burning core of lust raging within… along those lines anyway. I mean, who has the energy! I’m happy for this reminder – Coco Mademoiselle is juicy, exotic and so wearable – it made me smile when I put it on and that’s enough for me. In case you’ve missed it or have never tried it, Sephora has it for £61.75 (30ml) HERE.

Whitney’s absolutely gorgeous, perfect for the perfume and brand. I love the freshness of Coco Mademoiselle too and go back to it time and again, though I have fallen for Les Eaux Paris-Paris. I love your summary of the fragrant independent and lusty Woman! Apparently there’s a Coco Mademoiselle scented hair mist on the way which could be fun to try x
Yes there is – it might be out now actually..
